Does a patio cover need a permit in San Jose? How the small-structure exemption works, what the building code requires, and how to check…
Kitchens · Completed project
White shaker cabinets under a vaulted ceiling, a range hood trimmed in gold, a herringbone backsplash and a black island that anchors the room.
Project overview
This kitchen pairs white shaker cabinets and gold hardware with a black island topped in white quartz with gray veining. Woven counter stools line the island, which also holds a sink, a beverage fridge and a microwave drawer.
The cooking wall centers on a dual-oven range with a pot filler under a curved white hood wrapped in gold straps. A marble-look herringbone backsplash runs behind it, with floating wood shelves at the corners and a black swing-arm sconce over the farmhouse sink.
A tall wall of pantry cabinets frames the refrigerator next to the sliding door, and the vaulted ceiling with recessed lights opens the kitchen to the dining area beside it. Light wood-look flooring runs through both spaces.

How we work
The same five steps run every Quartz job, from the first visit to the final walkthrough. One team designs, permits and builds it.

Cabinets, countertops, backsplash, appliances, sink and lighting are chosen before work starts.
Electrical, plumbing and any wall changes are permitted through the city.
The old kitchen comes out; plumbing, gas and electrical are updated and inspected.
