Patio Cover Permits: When You Need One and When You Don’t (San Jose)
Does a patio cover need a permit in San Jose? How the small-structure exemption works, what the building code requires, and how to check…
Kitchens · Completed project
A handleless modern kitchen built around a long waterfall island, with warm walnut-tone panels breaking up the light cabinetry and LED strips washing the floor.
Project overview
This kitchen was rebuilt with a clean, modern layout: a wall of light greige flat-panel cabinets with integrated finger pulls, a full-height appliance column, and a long island that wraps its white veined quartz down both ends to the floor.
Walnut-tone panels set under the upper cabinets and on a tall side cabinet add warmth against the pale surfaces. A lit display column with glass shelves sits beside the refrigerator, and LED strips under the base cabinets and island give the whole room a floating look at night.
The island holds the sink with a matte black pull-down faucet, the dishwasher and a glass-door wine cooler, plus seating for four on the living-room side. An induction cooktop, a pot filler and stacked wall ovens complete the cooking wall.
Veined white quartz runs across the top and down both ends to the floor.
Flat panels with integrated finger pulls keep every run clean.
Wood-grain panels warm up the light cabinetry.
LED toe-kick strips and a lit display column with glass shelves.

How we work
The same five steps run every Quartz job, from the first visit to the final walkthrough. One team designs, permits and builds it.

Cabinets, countertops, backsplash, appliances, sink and lighting are chosen before work starts.
Electrical, plumbing and any wall changes are permitted through the city.
